ANTIPOLO — Alyssa Valdez showed flashes of her lethal form to kick off Creamline’s ‘five-peat’ bid with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-16 sweep of Petro Gazz in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at Ynares Center Antipolo. ADVERTISEMENT

Valdez, who missed Creamline’s historic Grand Slam in the Reinforced and Invitational Conferences due to a nagging knee injury, made an inspiring return scoring two of her four points to spark their comeback from an 11-13 deficit in the third set.

The three-time MVP’s return sparked an 11-2 run capped by Bea De Leon and Jema Galanza for a 22-15 advantage. PVL: Cignal dominates Farm Fresh

ANTIPOLO— Seeing familiar faces on the other side, Cignal still flaunted its strong bond amid the offseason exodus and swept Farm Fresh, 25-15, 25-18, 25-21, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at Ynares Center Antipolo.

Cignal coach Shaq Delos Santos was thrilled to see his former players Rachel Anne Daquis and Jheck Dionela with the Foxies, although the pair didn’t play as they are still working their way back to tip-top shape.

Former HD Spiker AJ Jingco was also among those who signed with Farm Fresh along with Chai Troncoso, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Chinchin Basas, and Gen Casugod.

ANTIPOLO— Rachel Anne Daquis’ PVL comeback will have to wait.

Still working her way back into top shape, Daquis missed Farm Fresh’s opening game against her former team Cignal in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at Ynares Center Antipolo.

Daquis wasn’t in uniform with Jheck Dionela, Jolina Dela Cruz, and Lorene Toring, cheering on the sidelines for the young Foxies. Alohi Robins-Hardy, who isn’t eligible to play, also supported the team with Daquis and Co.

After a record-breaking Grand Slam in the last PVL season, the Creamline Cool Smashers are back with the same determination to keep their lofty standing using an old, tried-and-tested formula and relentless drive for success.

Skipper Alyssa Valdez returns from injury bay to again spearhead the Cool Smashers, who will be looking to win the All-Filipino Conference for the fifth straight time and fourth straight tournament.

“Our preparation remains unchanged,” Valdez said as Creamline opens the season against dangerous Petro Gazz and Brooke Van Sickle, the prolific offensive gun who will be coming off a 34-point outing.
